If it was going any better I'd be an embarrasment to the home folks! Been setting out a few onions, and getting ready for planting season between inspections.

Looking forward to going back up to Iowa and seeing everybody, and maybe sampling a little more of that fine "fruit of the vine" you so generously provided. I have an even better excuse to come up there now, too, as I have a little 13hp Nichols and Shepard getting some work done, so I will be around and about! :D

Rootie and I bottled 60 / 5th's Last Sunday , from last falls apples
We still have about 12 gallons yet to bottle sometime this spring
I think this years wine is better than last years but it still has to age some.
I'm looking forward to getting ripped in Missouri in june with the boys.

I like the title to this thread----- very appropriate-- after all, the man is BIGGER THAN LIFE!!-- ALMOST.

David,

I was a little reluctant to open the thread myself, as I saw who the author was, and knowing Monte the way I do, well, the sky really is the limit!

Lawrence, I've never met Monte, or Jim, but the fact that they associate with you, and JJ, speaks volumes about them!

Lawrence,
This is an awesome sounding title, isn't it! He sent me the map to this place. Thanks RevJJ!

RevJJ,
I've been thinking of setting out some onion plants as well. I can't find my ice fishing auger. I think I took it to Mike's shed at Silver Creek, so I guess I'll have to wait until the snow subsides and the ground thaws?

Monte,
You have to watch the Good Reverend around the apple pile. He tried to lead me astray at Osage. I have to admit and I'm not much of a "user" but that was good stuff.

David,

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your friend. I hope that he went painlessly, as that is a little easier for the family to handle...not that it is easy...but easier.

David,

I sure hate to hear that, as there aren't that many "artisens" left who practice the ancient craft. I, too, hope his folks are well, and his was a peaceful passing.

Gary,
If you just put yer mind to it, just get out an icepick and you can plant some snow onions!

Monte,
just get the water and coal, and I betcha we can find a fatman with a ukelele that will sing for supper (or cider).
