This is probably a very rare thresher, a "Yellow kid" Avery, at the Dale & Martha Hawk Museum, in Wolford, ND. I've not seen another Yellow Kid, in any condition, and this one is like new.

Mike, I hate that the Robt Bell isn't better, but when I got it down to size, thats what I was left with.
This wooden Rumely, is owned by Darwin Fedorowich, of Redvers,Sask, Canada.
Its stored at the Hawk Museum, at Wolford ND.
I helped some with this machine, when we were there in 2000. It was a good running, & cleaning thresher.
You stak members know Darwin as"60 Case". He's another gentleman I feel priviledged to call friend.
The engine pulling it is, I think a 40 Case, owned by a gent by the name of Darrell? from Canada, also.

Here are a cple pictures of my old 22x36 hand feed Case. These were taken on the last Saturday in july, 1966, and I left for Viet Nam the following tuesday. Thats me standing on top of the machine.
This machine did the best job cleaning grain, of any in the country around here. It thrashed for yrs here before I bought it.

PS, The old gentleman at the sacker was a WW I vet, and he cut all the grain we threshed there that day-- by hand, with a cradle, and hand tied it all.

In this picture, taken in 1969,at McClouth,Kansas I was all of 23 yr old. I am the youngster cutting bands, as the older gent feeds this little wooden, hand feed machine. This thresher was purportedly owned by US Grant, during his farming stint. that may, or may not have been true.
You can also see the little 6hp Russell that was powering the thresher. It was so close, we got a good dose of the "stack music".
I think that thresher was a Little Giant, or some sort of "Giant"? Wish I had wrote it on the pics back then when i could still remember.

PS Several days after posting this picture, I found out that this was a "General Grant" thresher. That must have been what I heard, instead of the above story

Heres a 22x36 Frick thresher, thats owned by the Appalachian Regional Fair,, in Gray Tn. They graciously let us use it, to save us hauling one in for our April Show. We did do quite a bit of work on it, getting it up & running though. It does a fine job, as long as you don't crowd it any. It will plug pretty easy, for some reason, even with super dry grain. Thats my DC hooked to it.

Has that little Frick got the Landis "corregated roller" style weirdo cleaning shoe on it? Or did they got to a regular set up on the later machines?

JJ, the Ffrick has the roller type shoe. It does a great job of cleaning-- but as I said, you better feed her easy, or be ready to digg'er out. And its not a power issue. Its done it with small, and large tractors, and at different speeds. We had another Frick, owned by one of the members that was the same way. I have seen 3 or 4 Fricks running at shows, and every one has had the plugging problem if they got to feeding heavy.[powered by both steam, and gas]. If it had just been this one, I'd figger it was something I was doing wrong.

A lot of you have seen this scale model at Rollag. I would have liked to see the real thing in operation. The two old geentlemen did a good job with this model of the "Sageng self propelled" thresher, and it worked well too. I took this in 2004.

A John Deere in action, at Rollag, in 2004. I think it is a 28 inch machine. Note the 1953 Ford grain truck.
