Well February has come and gone. Which for
some of us means old iron show season is
almost upon us. So I hope everyone is
getting there winter projects wrapped up.
The site is actually making some headway, so
take time to stop in and check it out.
I have added some new links under the site
banner on the front page that lead to
sections that pertain to "Classic
Tractors", "Steam
Engines" (still being developed), "Gas
Engines", and "Small
Engines".
Under the Classic Tractors section you
will find some history summaries of the
major manufactures, Allis-Chalmers, Case,
Farmall / IH, Ford / Fordson, John Deere,
Massey Ferguson, Massey Harris, Minneapolis
Moline, and Oliver. Along with that
you will find some serial number lists of
the more common models that each of these
manufactures produced. As time permits
I am hoping to be able to add more content
to each of these sections.
This month we are hoping to bring
another new section to the site to provide
information on the great "Prairie Tractors"
or Big ole Tractors of the early 1900's.
Member
a martinson is going to be providing the
information for this section and I will get
it published to the site as time goes on.
If anyone else would like to lend a hand
with any of the other sections just email me
and let me know.
Changes have come to the front page of
the site I have upgraded the photo section
and I am going to be adding some more photos
this month. Also I have added an EBay
search box to the front page so please use
that as OIH makes a percentage of your
purchases made through there and that will
help to keep the site free.
If anyone has a
restoration article they would like
published or a photo to add to the front
page of something neat and odd or just kind
of interesting please email them too me and
I will sort through this and let you know if
we use it.
So until next month keep well and keep the iron oiled.

I am very pleased at the way that the site is progressing. I would like to say a very BIG THANK YOU to my members that lending a hand and helping me out to keep the site moving in the forward direction.
This month's plans include the further development of the Gas Engine section and the Small Engine section. I hope to get the basics up there along with what will hopefully be some useful information.
I did find some time in February to get to some of my own projects my IHC LB is back together finally and I have a Briggs & Stratton WI all torn apart and getting it ready to paint. I hope everyone is enjoying the newsletter. I would like to mention that if anyone has some friends that they already haven't invited to OIH by all means lets get moving. Promotion of the site is another thing that we are trying to figure out the best way of going about. Remember if anyone has any suggestion comments etc please email me or anyone in The Team and let us know what we can do. |
