Gas Engines, now there is a very
broad term. When we are talking old iron we are referring to any engine
that is made of cast iron and usually has a couple of flywheels on it.
Hence some common names for these types of engines are, Flywheel Engine, Hit and
Miss, and One Lunger. There were literally thousand of different companies
that tried there hands at producing these types of engines. Like any
aspect of industry there are some major players in the industry. I hope to
provide a little bit of company history and some facts about there engines on
the pages that are to follow this one. And possibly explain some of the
more common terms that are used when referring to these engines. |
